About us
Jacinto Convit World Organization – JCWO is a U.S. nonprofit organization founded in 2014 under the laws of California, that supports vital areas of public health, such as cancer and infectious diseases in developing countries. JCWO focal points are research and diagnostic testing of illnesses, as well as the development of new professionals via three high impact programs: Cancer Immunotherapy, Molecular Diagnostics and Internship.
Cancer Immunotherapy
This program develops a low cost, simple, personalized, potentially safe and effective immunotherapy, named ConvitVax, targeted to underprivileged patients with breast cancer. This therapy combines the patient’s tumor cells with bacillus Calmette Guérin (BCG) and low concentrations of formalin. Studies in animals and a human pilot experience show that the combination of these components stimulate the immune system, achieving an effective and specific response against the body’s tumor cells with minimal to no side-effects and a possible establishment of immune memory, which may reduce the possibility of disease recurrence.
Molecular Diagnostics
Using molecular techniques, JCWO provides a free of cost, early and specific diagnosis for children and adults of all ages and genders in poverty, affected by various types of cancer, mainly leukemia and solid tumors, as well as infectious diseases like HIV.
This type of testing improves the quality of life of patients, their prognosis and response to treatment, and increases their survival rate due to early detection, stratification of disease risk and the possibility of determining the best treatment option for the specific diagnosis. Currently, more than 900 highly vulnerable children and adults have benefitted from this program in Latin America.
Internship
As a believer that science and education are fundamental for the evolution of nations, JCWO gives students from all over the world the opportunity to learn new skills and participate in highly challenging projects within the organization, contributing to their personal and professional growth.
Interns can impact the world through areas such as health care, research, design, marketing and fundraising. To date, more than 40 students from countries like Canada, England, India, Kenya, Lebanon, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States and Venezuela have benefitted.
Join our cause
JCWO is seeking funds to initiate a phase 1b/2 clinical trial with ConvitVax, in 40 women with advanced breast cancer, as well as to benefit more patients with diagnostic testing for high impact diseases.
With your support, we can improve the lives of those who need it the most, while training the new generations.
